JOB TITLE: High School Resource Teacher
FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt
SUMMARY: The Resource Specialist provides on-going support for the instructional program. This position supports our students with exceptional needs and communicates pertinent information to staff members and parents. This position has additional responsibilities as outlined below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (plus additional duties as directed)
• Develops SSP/504 plans to meet the individual needs of students
• Evaluates students for the purpose of identifying student needs
• Coordinates services to students to ensure efficient instructions and an effective cohesive program
• Teaches/instructs students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student’s goals and objectives
• Consults/collaborates with staff, parents, and agencies for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services and adherence to due process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree, including appropriate coursework in education
• Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate
• Special Education Credential or Resource Specialist Certificate (or be eligible for an Emergency Credential or waiver)
• Minimum three years teaching experience
ABILITY AND SKILLS TO:
• Implement an SSP/504 program at the High School level
• Coordinate services with the high school teachers and work with their curriculum
• Coordinate curricular areas to establish an integrated program for each student with identified needs
• Interpret and evaluate obtained assessment results
• Plan integration of student instruction and write effective and meaningful student goals/objectives
• Implement curriculum that addresses student goals and objectives
• Conduct on-going evaluation of student goals/objectives
• Deliver methods and services to match specific student needs
• Work with teachers in a team effort to plan curriculum and student support
• Develop and implement intervention strategies
• Use effective and appropriate communication techniques with students, parents, staff, agencies and community members
• Work with students individually as directed and needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Language Skills: Have a great command of the English language
• Mathematical Skills: Mastery of basic math and Algebra
• Technology Skills: Able to use excel, Word, communicate via email, Google Docs
• Reasoning Ability: Able to initiate tasks, plan, and problem solve
• Personal Qualities: Prompt, team player, flexible
• Transportation: Able to drive to locations assigned to provide supports and services, to professional development opportunities

$66,560 to $80,000
